This is a place of nurturing and finishing farmers from the back yard gardening. Here we make them complete agro entrepreneurs. They are exposed to financial management by loaning them seed money from the revolving fund. They run an enterprise of their own choice under close supervision. They make profit and save it for their future development. No one comes to the hub and leaves it without having a complete knowledge in the enterprise of their interest. They get certificates on what they learned.

The hub has infrastructure for intensive agro production and processing. The state has provided land while private sector funds various production infrastructure and all other operations in partnership with international organizations.

The land is developed and then sublet to the cooperatives so established. In the process primary co-ops produce products and supply the local market, the processing organizations and the export market. All stakeholders in the project undergo training in the relevant areas of production.

They are financed by Phethahatso (through donor funding) and or any other funder. They make money, pay expenses and keep profit. Each beneficiary group stays on the project premises for 30 months. The incubation is the secret for making our different. While there is training to benefit from, there is also money to be made by both the hub and the trainees..

Enterprises in the hub include:

Phethahatso Community Development herein after only referred to as Phethahatso is a comprehensive community development [none profit organization] which has a heavy emphasis on “FOOD SECURITY” to the disadvantaged even though its scope of vision and operation transcends food security. Our entry point is to address the short term interventions such as feeding the vulnerable people including the orphans.
